Brides and Stars...
Have you ever thought that the STARS, constellations and clusters on the sky are LIKE very expensive JEWELRY scattered on the floor or a carpet. They all shine…
I’ve never thought about it, till today… Sometimes I compare the very bright, big and famous stars with brides… They shine like it’s their best and biggest day ever, like their wedding day, and they seem to be famous, because everyone is looking at them… Isn’t that interesting that people and stars have so much in common..?
Have you ever caught yourself at watching a bride walking in a park??? Maybe you didn’t even mean anything bad, you were just looking at her, because there is something unique, perfect, romantic, mysterious and exquisite in every bride… as well as I think in every star…
When every day I go out with my
binocular, I don’t wait for specific star to appear and lighten up on the sky…I like to look at each and every one of them…because each of them is unique and best…
I know one interesting thing, that my mom used to tell me, it’s when you don’t wear your jewelry, it darkens…I remember this and don’t want it to happen to my stars…, that’s why every day I go out with my
binocular and meet with them….
Xxx Clear and dark sky to you! xxX
Exploring night sky with Astronomy Binoculars
Some more thoughts for you today…
After I finished writing down my night thoughts, I was wondering if I have anything else to write you about… Honestly, everything that I’m telling you I take from my life, my daily routine, my friends’ words, my thoughts, something that I hear on the news or feel. So, I went to the kitchen to make some tea, when I got back I saw an email from my dear friend, actually she was my teacher in the university. In her email she was telling me about her life, family and the news happened to her recently… I was happy for her, but a very interesting detail made me to freeze…”I’m reading Homer’s Odyssey at the moment” were her words…I read them over and over again and startled again…I wrote her back asking to write me its key-words and why she likes it.
In a little while I got an answer back, and one of the key-words on her list was the word Pleiades… Isn’t that interesting??? Thought I to myself…Because just recently I read and was going to tell you about trying to find and observe “The Seven Sisters” cluster.
Star cluster Seven Sisters, also known as Pleiades – is the most famous of all star clusters. And I’m sure that many of you heard about it before. I also did, but decided to read about it more, and you won’ believe how much I learned and how much I’ll tell you right now…
Pleiades was first mentioned by Chinese a long time ago around 2300 BC, the first European references we find about 1000 BC. The myth tells that the Pleiades were nymphs, who were transformed by Zeus into a group of doves and places among the stars in order to be saved from the giant Orion.
When you look at them at first sight they will more likely appear to you as a misty patch, but
binoculars together with good eye sight will reveal you six, seven or even more individual stars. It’s said that at least 300 stars are members of this group, but not all of them can be clearly seen. It’s better to use low-power wide-field
astronomy binoculars in order to see the whole cluster, then one individual star.
That’s not even a half of what I’ve learned, but I think instead of studying books, it’s be more romantic to take the
binocular and start looking for it at this wonderful calm and clear sky….
Xxx Enjoy the Pleiades! xxX
Beautiful Stars thru my Binoculars
Here I’m with you again…
Last night I was lying in my bed thinking about how big, gorgeous, mythic, endless and unique universe is. I was drawing the moon, stars, planets and enormous countless constellations in my head… all of them looked so real to me…so I couldn’t help, got up and ran out on the balcony of my top floor apartment as if I didn’t have enough air to breathe….And I was right, the very second I raised my head to the sky, that it’s exactly what I needed…I was staring at a clear starry night sky, inspired and impressed with its unimaginable immensity. The stars were glittering, brightly gleaming and sparkling on high..The moon was showing me its beauty in silent solemn…Then I went back to my apartment to take my
binoculars, to have a better view and see a better picture of the craters on the moon, constellations or even discover an unknown comet… When I got back, it’s amazing, what a difference can several minutes make. .the sky was different… Sky-gazing with
binocular is rewarding, encouraging and up-lifting and that’s exactly how I felt at that moment.
When I eventually got back to bed, it was way after midnight, but even then I couldn’t fall asleep, because my head was still drawing and my eyes wanted it to continue…
Xxx Enjoy the sky tonight! xxX
